Brigg Town, nicknamed 'The Zebras', are well known for being one of the oldest clubs in the England, as well as being the oldest surviving club in Lincolnshire, having been formed in 1864.
Brigg became founder members of the Lincolnshire League in 1948 and in the next season the team won their first of eight league titles in a flourishing 25-year spell. It wasn't until 1976 when the club was elected to play in the Midlands Counties League.
Recent History
Brigg entered a reserve side in 1990, but only competed for two seasons, finishing fifteenth and third before leaving. They rejoined in the 2015/16 season, thirteen years later to finish fifth, followed by a ninth place finish last season. Despite a lower final standing in the league compared to their comeback season, the side did make it to the Supplementary Cup Final, losing out on penalties to Horncastle Town.
The club's first team play in Division One of the Northern Counties East League, and set up their Development side in the Lincolnshire League to supplement their first team, as well as giving their youth players and other players looking to play for the club an opportunity to compete at a high standard of senior football.
