Weekend Round Up: Gameweek 29

Round up from the weekends results in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League.

Lincoln Moorlands move top of the league after firing seven goals past Ruston Sports in the Newark Road derby.

Elsewhere, Brigg Town move into second place after a 4-2 home win over Gainsborough Trinity Reserves. At the other end of the table, Louth Town enjoyed their first victory in the league since November after beating Horncastle Town in the East Lindsey derby. Wyberton continued their good form with 1-0 win over Immingham Town.

Brigg Town CIC 4-2 Gainsborough Trinity Reserves

Goals from Jonny Nicholls, Ryan Thompson, Jake Parker and Cameron Houson secured another three points for The Zebras as they beat table toppers Gainsborough Trinity by four goals to two to move into second place, hot on the tails of new leaders, Lincoln Moorlands Railway. They sit two points off the pace, having played a game extra. Both sides meet in the Supplementary Cup semi final next weekend.

Lincoln Moorlands Railway 7-1 Ruston Sports

Last years champions, Ruston Sports were blown away by title favourites, Lincoln Moorlands as they made the short trip to the Moorlands Sports Ground. Josh Raby (2), Robbie Smith (2), Gary Nimmo, Andrew Toyne and Sam Thomas were all on target for a the hosts in a 7-1 win which sees them move to the summit of the Lincolnshire League table. Jordan Mackinder scored The Sports' consolation.

Louth Town 3-2 Horncastle Town

Frazer Chapman's first two league goals of the season helped the white wolves to an elusive three points as they beat county cup finalists 3-2 at their Saltfleetby ground. Paul Coulam was also amongst the goals as they close the gap to Grimsby Borough Reserves to just three points. Andrew Bullivant and Luke Blondel scored for the visitors who remain in ninth.

Wyberton 1-0 Immingham Town

Nathan Wright continued his recent purple patch with the only goal of the game to seal another league win for February's team of the month. His side leapfrog Nettleham into seventh, whilst their oponents, Immingham, are still in search of their first win of the year.
