Congratulations to Brigg on the victory and commiserations to Horncastle, who played their part in a fiercely competitive and entertaining game.

Match Round Up:

A crowd of around three hundred watched on in this all Lincs League county cup final as The Zebras took on The Wongers at the Vertigo Stadium. Brigg's top scorer Reece Moody gave his side the perfect start as he opened the scoring just three minutes into the game. Despite a fast Brigg start, Elliot Andrew's powerful header drew his side level with twenty minutes on the clock.

The second half began just the same as the first, when Jake Reed caught The Wongers cold once again just two minutes into the half. 2-1 Brigg. Minutes later, things went from bad to worse for Horncastle as Scott Lowman saw red for a late tackle in the middle of the park. Credit to Stones' ten men who battled hard to try and find an equaliser, but a professional Brigg performance was rounded off when Jonathan Nichols beat the onrushing keeper to the ball and slotted into an empty net with five minutes remaining to send the jubilant Brigg fans into wild celebration.

A last gasp effort from Horncastle saw no reward and the final whistle blew to crown Brigg Town Lincolnshire Junior Cup champions.
