HORNCASTLE TOWN are the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League Team of the Month for February.

An unbeaten month sees the wongers claim their second team of the month award of the season, their previous one coming back in October.

Despite being held to a goalless draw on home soil by a resilient Wyberton side at the beginning of February, they achieved three consecutive wins thereafter.

The standout result, thumping Grimsby Borough 6-1 on the 3G surface at Bradley Development Centre, which was followed by a solid 2-0 win away at Sleaford Sports Amateurs.

Their third and final victory of the month came when Brigg Town Development visited The Wong, where Horncastle brushed aside their lowly opponents, triumphing by five goals to one.

The fire power behind the month of success came from strikers Luke Blondel and Michael Harness, who contributed with four and three goals respectively. Contributions were also made from midfielder's Andrew Bullivant (2), Liam Papworth (2), Richard Jackson (1) and Jack Wood (1).

The presentation of the award is set to be made this weekend when Skegness Town pay a visit to The Wong.
