January Fixtures Preview

By Lincs League

Teams in The Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League are set to return to action after the Christmas break on Saturday 6th January.

6th

SKEGNESS TOWN will be hoping it's third time lucky as they travel to Immingham Sports Complex to play the Pilgrims in the two club's first league meeting of the season. The hosts, Immingham have already knocked the Lilywhites out of both the Challenge and Supplementary Cup in their last two meetings, games which finished 2-0 and 3-1 respectively. However, victory this time round for Skegness would see them leapfrog their opposition in the table.

After a late brace from player/manager Jordan Mackinder secured Rustons joint top spot on their visit to The Wong prior to Christmas, he will be hoping his side can start the new year as they ended 2017. A trip to the DWB Stadium to face AFC Boston stands between them and a sixth straight league win.

Elsewhere in the league, CGB Humbertherm host table toppers Horncastle Town, whilst Nettleham and Brigg meet at Mulsanne Park just four weeks after the two sides met in the reverse fixture.

Two of the league's sides find themselves in Lincs Junior action. Sleaford Sports Amateurs make the journey up the A15 as they play Lincoln Moorlands Railway of the Central Midlands League. Meanwhile, Wyberton will look to secure their place in the last four of the competition as they make the short trip to Boston premier division side, Coningsby, in a repeat of last years semi final match up, a game Wyberton edged 1-0.

13th

CGB Humbertherm welcome AFC Boston to Fulstow in what is likely to be a six pointer down towards the bottom of the table. Just two points separate the two sides as it stands. Grimsby Borough Academy are the only side not in action on the first weekend of the month but their opening fixture of 2018 is set to be a cracker with a derby fixture against Immingham Town.

20th

No fixtures will take place this weekend as the League's Representative side are set to play their rearranged match against The Staffordshire League. Last month the fixture was postponed due to poor travel conditions in the West Midlands.

27th

Ruston's and Horncastle meet for the fourth and final time of the season on the final weekend of the month on what is currently a fixture between first and second in the league. There is also a match up between the league's two last standing County Cup competitors who meet at Eslaforde Park.
