Weekend Preview: 13th Jan

By Lincs League

SKEGNESS TOWN manager Nick Chapman will be keen for his side to show their bouncebackability this weekend as they travel to joint leaders Ruston Sports.

Ruston Sports vs Immingham Town - 14:00 ko, Rustons Sports & Social Club

After losing their first league match of the season last weekend to Immingham Town, the Lilywhites will be looking to get their title ambitions back on track with victory on Saturday afternoon. If they are going to do this, they will have to end a three game losing streak and the key to achieving this could be stopping the inform Alex Mackinder, who has already scored an impressive twenty goals in all competitions this season. On the other hand, a win for Ruston's could give them the outright lead at the top of the Lincolnshire League depending on the result in the game between Horncastle and Nettleham on The Wong.

Horncastle Town vs Nettleham - 14:00 ko, The Wong

This will be the third encounter between the two sides this season and if the previous two games are anything to go by, expect goals this Saturday. Horncastle came away 4-2 victors in the league fixture in October, and also progressed in the Supplementary Cup beating the Nettles by the odd goal in five the month after. Both sides are currently tied on twenty points at the top of the table. The player to watch in this one is Nettleham's Jack Higginson who will make it five goals in his last five game if he scores in this weekend's fixture.

CGB Humbertherm vs AFC Boston - 14:00 ko, Fulstow Playing Fields

At the bottom of the table, a loss for AFC Boston could see a gap begin to form between them and their opponents. However, having picked up four out of five of their total points on their travels this season, and the fact that their hosts are yet to have gained a single point on home soil so far, the stats appear to favour the Boston side going into the match.

Brigg Town Development vs Sleaford Sports Amateurs - 15:00, The Hawthorns

The Zebras will be looking to build on last weekends 2-2 draw at Mulsanne Park as they welcome Sleaford Sports to The Hawthorns. Sleaford come into the game off the back of a 5-0 defeat in the Lincs Junior cup, but a 5-1 win in the last meeting between the two teams will give the visitors hope they can return to winning ways.

Grimsby Borough Academy vs Immingham Town - 14:00 ko, Lucarlys Sports Ground

Immingham Town make the short trip to Lucarlys Sports Ground for the north east derby and go into the game with morale high after last weekend's 1-0 home victory over current title holders Skegness Town. However The Pilgrims have really struggled away from home and are yet to pick up a point on their travels. Borough, who will be eager to return to action, will also be keen to add three points to their tally to keep their title challenge on track, as well as the additional incentive of moving five points clear of their local rivals.
