Weekend Preview: 24th February

By Lincs League

GRIMSBY BOROUGH ACADEMY must stop the rot if they are to prevent Ruston Sports from opening up a five point lead at the top of the table when they welcome the leaders to the Lucarly's Sports Ground on Saturday afternoon.

In other fixtures, Brigg travel to Horncastle, Immingham entertain Wyberton and Louth host Skegness.

Grimsby Borough Academy vs Ruston Sports - Lucarly's Sports Ground, 14:00

Due to the resignation of AFC Boston, Ruston Sports now find themselves three points clear at the top of the standings, despite being held to a 2-2 draw at Immingham last weekend.

This coming Saturday they face a trip to Grimsby Borough who have slipped off the pace after suffering back to back defeats for the first time this campaign. Manager Neil hope will be adamant his side provides a reaction, but Ruston's, who seem to score goals for fun on their travels, have plenty of motivation to spur themselves on as well.

Horncastle Town vs Brigg Town Development - The Wong, 14:00

Brigg have their first away day since their fruitful trip to Mulsanne Park on the first Saturday of the new year. The form guide appears to show they do better on the road, but The Wongers form is equally encouraging. They are now on a run of three wins out of four, another will take them back above Nettleham, who don't feature this weekend.

Immingham Town vs Wyberton - Immingham Sports Complex, 14:00

The Immingham Sports Complex is fast becoming a fortress for their side, although they only held onto their unbeaten home record thanks to an 87th minute equaliser against the league leaders last time out.

Wyberton give very little away themselves, so it would be reasonable to suspect this will be a tight and tactical affair between two sides which could probably do without the draw many may predict.

Louth Town vs Skegness Town - Saltfleetby Sports Ground, 14:00

The reverse fixture was just a fortnight ago, with Skegness running out 5-1 victors at The Vertigo Stadium. The white wolves have the advantage of playing on home soil this time round, but Skegness will be hoping their two wins on the bounce could be the beginning of their assault up the league table to retain the Lincolnshire League title.
