January Team of the Month

Four wins out of four sees Moorlands enjoy a perfect start to 2019 and claim back to back Team of the Month Awards in the Lincolnshire League.

The month began with a comfortable 4-0 home victory over bottom side Louth Town. Gary Nimmo continued as he left off in 2018 with a brace, whilst Sora Huriuchi and Robbie Smith also opened their accounts for the new year. The Newark road side were made to work hard for the second win of the month, as they narrowly defeated Lincoln United Development Squad 2-1. This time with a brace was Jesse Anderson. Next up, the league leaders were defeated as Josh Raby scored twice in an important 4-2 away win. Robbie Smith and Gary Nimmo also found the net on this occasion. The final game and fourth victory of the month saw The Moors come back from a goal down win 4-1 against a young Grimsby Borough side. This time Robbie Smith, Jesse Anderson, Gary Nimmo and Luke Shipman were all on target to round off an excellent month.

This month has seen Moorlands rise to third position, having played just eleven games. They are two points behind second placed Brigg, with two games in hand and nine behind Gainsborough with five games in hand on them.
