Weekend Round Up: Gameweek 7

By Lincs League

Round up from gameweek seven of the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League.

Immingham Town's 93rd minute winner ended Ruston Sport's hopes of making it five straight wins, in a weekend where five out of six away teams took all three points on offer.

Lincoln United Reserves were one of those teams and their 4-0 win at Wyberton sees them draw level with fixtureless Brigg Town at the top of the table. Lincoln Moorlands kept their unbeaten start to the season in tact with victory at Horncastle, whilst Gainsborough Trinity continued their good form with a win at Nettleham. Cleethorpes recorded another win at Louth and Grimsby Borough ended their run of defeats with the only home win of the weekend against Spalding United.

Grimsby Borough Reserves 4-0 Spalding United Development

James Wroot's hat-trick fired his side to their third win of the season against a Spalding side who still remain pointless after six games, and have now failed to score in three of their previous four fixtures. This result sees Grimsby move up to seventh, above Horncastle, Nettleham and Wyberton.

Horncastle Town 1-4 Lincoln Moorlands Railway

Moorlands took all three points back to Lincoln with a 4-1 win in their first away fixture of the season. Cann (2), Raby and Smith all combined to make it back to back defeats for Horncastle, who now slump to eighth position, whilst the visitors move within six points of the leaders, with two games in hand.

Louth Town 1-2 Cleethorpes Town Reserves

Louth failed to build on last weekends win, as goals for Southern and Taylor sank the hosts to give their team their third away win of the season which sees them remain fifth in the table, whilst Louth drop to twelfth.

Nettleham 1-2 Gainsborough Trinity Reserves

Cashburn and Chapman were on target for the holy blues as they recorded their fourth win of the season to move just three points behind the leaders. Croft scored The Nettles only goal.

Ruston Sports 1-2 Immingham Town

Immingham Town capitalised on a second half sending off for Rustons as they scored a 93rd minute goal to secure a 2-1 win and three huge points against last seasons champions. Alex Mackinder opened the scoring, but after conceeding just before half time, and being reduced to ten just after, the home side couldn't hold out against an Immingham team who've now doubled their points tally for the season.

Wyberton 0-4 Lincoln United Reserves

Lincoln United Reserves made it three straight wins at The Causeway to move joint top of the Lincs League table on sixteen points from their opening seven games. Marlon Grundy's hat-trick put the game beyond the hosts and Janssen added a fourth to seal The Whites another win and continue their fine start to the season. Wyberton now sit tenth place after suffering their fifth defeat of the campaign.
